I have a Magnum .46 XLS.

It has hardware for both Standard and Remote needle valves.

It came standard needle valve.

The manual says how to convert it to Remote, but I stripped the needle trying to move it to the remote assembly.

Hobbypeople lists the whole carb assembly as 49.98!!!! C-R-A-P!

That's half the price of the engine.

Email server's down, can't email Global.

C-R-A-P.

can someone help me?!!?

U kno wat? I should post this in Engines too.

Just Engines in the UK will fix you up I'm sure... They carry ASP engines, which are basically the same...

Where did you actually strip it? Did you strip the carb body or the remote body or what? You might be able to do a work around.

PS: I think your first mistake was going to a goofy remote needle. Call me old fashioned, but after my OS .91FX remote needle problems, all my Magnums, and I have several, use the forward needle. No problems what so ever.

I stripped the hex thing that is attached to the carb.

U know, the needle, then the hex thing (this I stripped), then the carb, then the throttle arm?

Sorry, Rudeboy, but I am livng in the US, cant pay for internat. shipping!

(I'm only twleve)

I like remote needle because it's ""Safer"" (supposedly)

David,

I second Ed, about the needle placement.

Getting your fingers close to the prop; even only 1mm away from it, will not get them injured.
The remote needle was only born when you were about 5 and until then, no one complained.

You must take the utmost care when adjusting the needles, in any case. But the idle mixture needle is ALWAYS in the carburettor anyway. So there is no way not to get close to the spinning prop (unless you want to shut down the engine for every small adjustment that you make).

The remote needle is the CORPORATE LAWYERS showing you, that their company is protecting you.
Don't trust them. Protect yourself.

Paul and Jenny at JustEngines, can ship carburettors and small parts, in a padded envelope, for less than $5; less than you would pay for local US shipping and handling. Write to them for an offer, with photos of the stripped parts (A web cam can do a sufficiently good job), at: justengines@enterprise.net . You've got nothing to lose by trying.

OK. Your best bet is to box it up and send it to:

Global Services
18480 Bandilier Cir
Fountain Valley, CA 92708

From my experience, they have the best service department there is. you need to tell them you are 12 and that you want a remote needle set up.

Have you run engines before? Do you have someone who is helping you? We have a few youngsters in my club. They started at 8 & 10, but they had a father or uncle who helped them run the engine.

David,

Most American businesses charge about $8 for S&H (Tower hobbies, Etc.,).
The cost is lower, of course, but you don't pay the cost.

Out of country shops almost invariably waive the shipping charges and most enveloped parcels are between $3 and $5.
