The lowest trickle rate on the Dymond SuperTurbo is 50mah. If I have a 500mah pack or even a 1000mah pack and let it charge and then set for 50mah trickle isn't this rate still too high? On the 500mah pack it is C/10 and on the 1000mah pack C/20 which is too high to leave on for trickle for a day or more correct?

How big would a pack have to be to even consider the 50mah minimum trickle a "real trickle"? 5000mah?

I would also like to know how to lower the trickle......the lowest setting I can get is 50mah......unless you want to count 0 mah.

The trickle rate on the Dymond SuperTurbo is programmable from zero to 250 mA in 50 mA steps. This is fine for topping off packs from 250 to 5000 mAh. It is better not to leave packs on trickle indefinitely.

thanks...this is what I suspected...wonder why they didn't make at least the first 0-50mah increment in steps of 1? at least you could charge a pack and if you forgot about it a day or two you could let it run and keep it topped off with little harm at an appropriate trickle rate.

A couple of days at C/10 will not do any significant harm to the packs. There are many consumer products that are on continuously.

Does this apply to NiMH also?

Yes, Ni-Mh has replaced Ni-Cd in a number of applications where the pack is on continious trikle charge - cordless phones, cell phones, lap top computers to name a few.
