hey, i hate to be asking all these questions lately, but im so full of them(and myself!). anyways, the title pretty much explains it, what are all of the differences between the PBS and PCr hyper 7s? i need to know because i am saving for a buggy and narrowed it down between these two. i believe it is studysession or buggies r us(sorry i dont remember who) that stands strongly behind their pbs and since the pcr is nearly identical(with some exceptions i am unaware of lol), i am taking their advice. it wont be a few months until i get it though(march, when i get my tax refund) because my parents are real pains in the arse when it comes to money. i have to "prove to them i can save money" so i gotta wait until march and then ill sell my maxx to make some of the cash back. it will be a looong wait but i'd rather have a dope ass buggy instead of a money pit monster truck.

stop. go. pennzoil.
drive. break. traxxas.

The difference between the PCR and the PBS is minimal. The PCR is the exact same buggy as the PBS except it has the "laydown" radio tray and linkage and a different color scheme on the body. There is one other small change and that is the front upper arm.

so basically the PCR is better? what is the change on the upper arm? a good change? lol...

thanks. from your avatar, i am assuming you have a pbs... if so, then how is it? aside from the steering servo, anything that needs replaced as soon as you get it?

PCR has lower center of gravity, but over all it will be the same thing. You will be happy with both. If you a serious racer you will notice the difference of the PCR, but if not a serious racer you may not notice a difference at all.

i know it says the PCR comes with an 8 port on ofna's page, but it looks more like the standard hyper .21... am i right? has anyone bought the pcr rtr to confirm this?

The PCR definitely comes with an 8 port. For whatever reason, Ofna has decided to do away with the Purple heads. All of the Hyper 7 series buggies now come with the 8 port with the black head.

Both the PBS and the PCR come with 8 port but not 8 port race. You will be very happy with you purchase. Congrats and welcome to the 1/8th scale realm.

thanks, i think ill be getting the PCR buggy then because at acehardwarehobbies.com it is only $440. i noticed on their site though it says hyper .21 engine, nothing about an 8 port.

anyone with the hyper pbs, i'd like to know of any weak points in the buggy as soon as you get it... also, does it come witha pullstart and a starterbox both? i read soemwhere the pullstart isnt included or something. thanks...

Yes it comes with both. And the ONLY 2 weeks points are steering servo and starter box.

EVERYTHING else ROCKS! - I have one.

The Hyper PBS is a great buggy in my opinion. I have yet to have any bad experiences with mine and believe me, it has taken it's share of abuse. It comes with both the pullstart and a starterbox. Use the pullstart for break in. Once the engine is broken in, the starterbox works just fine.

Hey Flatlander,

I don't know if you've seen any of this stuff yet. If you have, great, if not, it's pretty entertaining.

There are links to all the videos starting on post 6.
