Status: offline 		At any given time there is usually about 1.5X Guests to Users. Now we are busting new ground at over 4K guests to 500 users. 8 to 1.

Remarkable, or something.

Status: offline 		We were mentioned today on Inside RC which reaches millions of households. I wonder if that could be tonights increase? The other thing it could be is a web spider from a search engine. If they crawl a page a second with a new agent that means 60 new guest per minute! 3600 per hour!

Status: offline 		now it is at 8000. it could be a job that clears out old sessions every 5 minutes is not running. I will wait to see if it clears out and if not have to wait to get the access to check if the timeout clearing routine has gone offline. I am pretty sure that we don't have 8000 users in from the tv show.

Status: offline 		After investigating this a but further it appears that whoever is doing the packet attacks on our site is also doing Denial of Service (DOS) attacks by sending out loads of requests to our servers. Isn't that special. Nevertheless we are chugging along pretty good here.

Maybe with a high speed connection, but it took nearly a full minute for me to get into the site at 56K. It DID get better once I actually got to the forums though.

Wouldn't you like a few minutes in a dark closet with the guy(s) responsible for this kind of crap?
