Status: offline 		I've been waffling back 'n forth about NiMH, LiPoly & LIon battery options, but I finally ruled out the Polys due to their fragility & all the dire warnings about fire & bursting.

I've had GREAT experience w/ the folks at onlybatterypacks.com, so I called Jeff & asked what they had cookin' for the Mini-T.

At first we discussed an 1100mahNiMH pack they make for the HPI mini-car ($20 each, Nexcel cells), but then we started discussing the Lithium options.

Cut to the chase, I ordered two 6 -cell Lithium ION packs from them!! 1100mah, 7.2V, and only $15 each!!!!

He KNOWS about the High-tech digicam/Lithium charger I plan to adapt to charge these packs& agrees it will be FINE (albeit a bit slow), and he said that while they are not markedly longer LASTING than the NiMH alternative, they run at their peak voltage for longer, meaning the car won't slow down till it's time to recharge. AND, they're a bit lighter than the NiMH packs.

And it's not like LIon packs are all that dangerous, as billions of ignorant camcorder/digicam/cellphone consumers have managed to avoid legthy hospital visits from mishandling their LIons!! Plane & helo users push their power supplies to their absolute limits, and with common sense & a decent charger, most of us can handle Lithium cells (though the soft-pack Polys are a LOT more delicate and "dangerous" .

I'll let you know how everything works out!!
