New list is $425.......Lowest discounted I have heard of is $390,but Im not sure where.
This gets you a strong reliable converted chainsaw with a flat plate mount,a useless muffler, and thats all.It comes with a magneto fixed timing ignition, which most of us find hard to start, and which idles rather roughly.Various fixes to these built in problems include, spring starters, plug in ignition retarders, and full electronic ignition conversions all for extra cost.
better to buy a US produced full electronic unit like Fox,Taurus,Brison, etc,or a designed for purpose make like ZDZ (currently $490),IMO.
The used market is a whole other story.

Don't forget the weight. They're a little on the heavy side for the displacement compared to the more modern engines. If you're application is weight sensitive, then I agree with Kevin. Look into one of the brands he mentioned.

The G62 is no more a converted chainsaw than anything else..The crank comes from a backpack blower, the case is cast especially for the airplane engine, and the piston and cylinder from the chainsaw....A G62 with electronic igntion weighs just over 4 lbs, costs $500.00..
How come the other engines with machined cases are not "converted chainsaws"..Same parts...
a converted chainsaw weighs less then others, because of the magnesium alloy (expensive) crankcase..

I presume that $500 figure is from you as a Zenoah dealer, with your conversion done on a new G62 plus freight.?
Are you also saying a converted G62 is equal in value and performance compared with a 3W or ZDZ?

Right..New 62, my ignition in the mount, mechanical advance with my ball bearing sensor, lifetime guarantee on the ignition...Been making these for 14 years....
Quality, no difference ..How do you define it?
Price, ZDZ is cheaper
Performance, I have not run a ZDZ, but from the threads here they are definitely stronger, as a reed valve engine should be. I have run a few 3W 60 piston port singles, they ran about the same as G62s..
You pays your money and takes your choice....

I have no problems with my ( 3 ) G-62, ( 1 )Q -50 , ( 2 )Q 75, (1) fuji 32, maloneys 100 (2 ) & maloneys 125 (2) (2) G -38, an so on, as long as you take care of your engines they well take care of you. Also I like to say that all engines are in ww1 airplanes, need the little extra wgt up front.

Every where i checked you will pay at least $ 500.00
with shipping cost included. now you maybe able to get a good used one for around $ 275.00 but then again you should know how you are dealing with.

Cheif Aircraft has them for $399, but you will have to call them to get that price, as they do not advertise it.

Vince , is that with the spring starter & throttle llinkage set up & tap for smoke. Most others charge extra for these items. I go to B & B specialties & have no problems with service from them, every thing i just listed is done from them & still pay only $ 525.00

That is without the spring starter and the extended motor mount to fit while useing spring starter. When you order you get just the engine - NO Spring starter and mount to fit over starter.
those items are extra. I called them to order one a few months ago and was told that the spring starter & cup mount was not a stock items that come's with the engine ( have to order sepretly)

Dont need a spring starter anyway, unless you have arm problems.
