I am in the process of trying to understand why one of my models ( a freeflight flying wing) works as well as it does.

To this end I have been trying to compare theoretical wing twist requirements and the actual model.

The simplest formula I have found for this uses the airfoil zero lift angle as one of the parameters.

Can someone give me a formula / website / whatever where I can get the zero lift angle.

One of the more interesting sources tried thus far is Martin Hepperle's site. Fantastic resource but quite difficult to use for an old bear like me.

Thanks in advance for the help...

p.s. BTW the airfoil I am working with is a modification of the old Jedelski B6407E. In its basic form it is B64055E

The Zero lift angle is generally found by measurement in the windtunnel or by an airfoil simulation program like the Eppler code or X-Foil. See
http://amber.aae.uiuc.edu/~m-selig/
for this information under Low- Speed Airfoil Data.

Martin Heperle's site has this data for his airfoils. Look for the point where the Cl vs alpha curve crosses the Cl equals zero axis to find the zero lift angle.

BTW you can download X-foil from:
http://www.charlesriverrc.org/
and apply it to any airfoil you can't find at the above sites.
