Are you sure you don't have the Shrike .15? I can't imagine the 1/2A Shrike with a .15!! Maybe 1/2A means 1/2 an engine! Just kidding, I have no clue.

There are three versions. I have a Shrike .15 and it sounds like ou do to. The 1/2A shrike has a wingspan of 24 1/2 inches, the .15 has one of about 35 inches. Which do you have? They fly great though, don't they?

i deffinatly got the 15 one and they fly fantastic i love fast low pssses with it. why would anyone want a Wonder over this.

But i think i just figured this out in the shower......
My 25 is 2A
a .049 is 1/2A
is A a unit of volume?
so 1A is anything in .10 size, 2A any .20, 3A .30's 1/8A .010?
have i got it?
And that Greek bloke figured his idea out in a bath

Nope. In the old days, there were three classes, A(09-19) B(20-49) and C(50 and up).
1/2 A is stuff up to .09, 1/4A up to .02, and 1/8a up to .01.
Or something like that! It came from HALF of class A.

You said it, the system made no sense! When they started the classes, nobody ever dreamed of .049 engines. Remember, they were all ignition engines with a coil and condenser and batteries...

Yep, you can make a REALLY hot shrike...they have been up to 200 mph for sure. You don't need to reinforce it much, you would be surprised at how well the airframe holds together...

No sir. Respectfully...that is incorrect. It came from class A, class B, class C. Half of class A.

the system i thought it was is the one that makes sense.
the system that it is is the one that makes no sense lol
would be so easy for kit makers to say 2A-3A plane, oh yes, thats a 20 to a 39 size, but then again, they could just say that LOL

Could it be anything to do with what type of insurance or something you would need? i know you have to take tests and have diffrent insurance if you fly over a certain weight..
then again, its a very old system, i guess A is small, B is normal, C is large, so maybe it does make sense lol
