XTM is definitely gaining popularity. Anybody who is considering an 1/8 scale buggy should definitely look at the X-Terminator. Personally, I'm a die hard Ofna guy, but I've seen the X-Terminator and read many favorable articles about it and its definitely worthy of consideration. The engine may not be race legal however it has a TON of torque and it will get you where you want to go in a hurry! Good luck!

I think you made great comments on how the community overall feels.

1. XTM is gaining popularity. They have OUTSTANDING SUPPORT- Whenever I post a question on their online forum, I get answers within an hour if not minutes. One of the VP's PM'd me personally when I was having problems with the LHS I bought it from.

2. The engine is not sanctioned for 1/8 scale buggy 'stock' races- a .21 is required for that. XTM does sell a .21 that is made for just the purpose. However, a lot of clubs and events do have modified or outlaw events, so they should allow your buggy to run. Most of the time, the .21 guys don't mind if I run with em if it isn't a formal event (aka weekend warriors)

3. The motor is VERY strong, but has a temperment. I have noticed it is VERY sensitive to glow plug/fuel type & nitro content, and tuning with these things. I am still on the learning curve for making this motor run optimally.

I am still happy with my decision so far...

I think it is a decent product, a decent price with good support.

Good luck!
