I cant keep my savage 25 running. I get it started. Sometimes it shuts right off, other times it will just shut off at mid RPMs. Sometimes it shuts off when I goose the throttle and sometimes when I let off the throttle. Please help.

Thanks. Can anybody give me detailed instructions on how to set the needles back to the factory settings? On the low end. Do I need to open the throttle to screw the low end all the way in?

Put an o.s. #8 plug in it unless it's REALLY cold by you then get one slightly warmer like an o.s.A3 plug. Make sure you keep it indoors til it's time to start it. If changing the plug doesn't work consult the manual before you tweek on those needles. If it's too cold out then you'll want to run it slightly (and I mean slightly) hotter than in the spring.

I've noticed that if I flood the engine a little it is hard to start like that. The best way to get it going is to either pull out the plug and spin the engine or if you can get it to idle slowly give it throttle until it is cleaned out.

I would put a new plug in it, and take all your settings back to factory and start over. I know its a pain, but its prob the best thing to do at this time.

That happened to me today after i messed with the settings. Turn the high speed needle 3 and a 1/2 turns out from closed, and the low speed between 2 1/2 to 3 turns out. Also since the tank is pressurized push the gas tank lid down tight.
