I just (finally) got all the parts in for my 2 speed transmission and got them put in.
I followed the directions to the T....
The car won't freewheel backwards, and when i start it .. the wheels turn, and no matter how low I idle it they still turn..
When I put the car down to drive it turns off (Because the wheels hit the ground , thus stopping them, thus stopping the flywheel)
I turned one of the gears backwards that has a 1 way bearing, then the car won't roll forwards, but it will backwards....
I turned the car on to try and drive it and it wont drive at all, the clutchbell turns and the gears turn.. but no car :P

Arg!
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Thanks!

maybe one of your bearings is put in backwards the one-way bearing that is.

the car should be able to roll in both directions but should only roll forwards when you hit the gas.

Good.. Now that you have figured out as far as I have figured out, lets diagnose the problem together...

If it helps... It was intended for a HPI RS4 2 (belt) and mine is an RS4 3 (shaft), I had to order a gear shaft for it... because that one for the belt didnt fit...
but the guy I got it from said it was used on his RS4 3

I had the clutchbell screw too tight, thus not letting it free-spin...
It's all good now

I feel slightly stupid.. I got it all fixed and was so excited I drove it around in my Father's doctor office on the floor...
How am I going to know when the 2 speed catches?

You'll hear it. The pitch of the engine's sound will change, like a dirt bike shifting. You might have to adjust it a little too. Mine was a little tight, and took a dozen or so tanks to free-up enough to shift consistently.
