Test flew my new Racer II today and after trimming it out and testing the control rates, I got her right down on the deck cranking turns as if I had flown her many times before. The plane railed as good as or better than any plane I have flown. This plane also sports an experimental bubbleless tank, and it performed flawlessly. I practiced fueling and starting proceedures a number of times at home on the bench since this was all new to me. I was also concerned about engine flooding. The engine did seem harder to start, spitting fuel out of the muffler, but it did not hydrolock. I would unclip the fuel line just before hitting the starter. I am thinking of using my wired glow plug starter from the field box control panel for a hotter glow. I am now using a fairly old Ni-starter(?) and even though it seems to have plenty of power, the voltage is lower than what I can attain from a wired glow starter.

We are having our last Slo-Quickee races here in Lake Havasu Sunday until September. The next 3 months events will be held up in the cool country of Kingman with John Buckner hosting. My test flight today (Friday)was in 100 degree temps, and that was at 6:30 PM, so flying up in Kingman will be a pleasure.
