Ok, I just bought a new Team Losi XXX-NT RTR Sport... I bought it due to the fact it was a proven winner, it was fairly cheap, and came with a considerably good transmitter (from what I understand). But I have a few questions...

1) What kind of wheels are available for this truck? Is there a special size needed?
2) Are there different bodies for this truck?
3) Where can I find good hop up parts for the truck?
4) If I decide to change the motor... what do I need to know (I do know bigger is not always better)? Brands?Sizes?Models?
5) With the transmitter that came with the kit (JR XR2), can i use it to run other r/c cars if i choose to buy an on-road nitro?

Also... If anyone has movies of their XXX-NT, I would like to see them or any pics of their mods w/ a list... It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David from TN, USA

The RTR got ya hooked,

1-There are many diffrent style wheels tht will fit the 3x-nt, make sure you get the ones for the 3x-nt many 2.2" wheels look alike but the way they attach to the truck is different the also have diffrent offsets.
2-Proline makes a different (exact fit) body for the truck, look here http://www.prolineracing.com/proline.html Many other bodies will work with a little custom body mount work.
3-Mny place sell Losi aftermarket parts online, Basics, Lundsforrd turnbuckles, aluminum rear hub carriers, aluminum Idler gear(tranny),etc. Go to your local track, if you have one near, and talk to guys racing them for their input.
4-Ay small block .12 or .15 "Standard shaft" engine will fit I recomend the MT12. best engine for the money, IMHO.
5-That radio will work in any car, truck, boat, tank, any land vehicle you can think of

p.s. I forgot one thing, you'll most likely want to get a better Steering servo, Faster/stronger.
good luck

Have fun, And remember Don't get mad when you break it, beecause you will break it

I have been looking at nova rossi motors and I am confused about the terms "sg" and "threaded". Also... How do I know if a motor is a "standard shaft", and what others are available... Oh yeah, and is a 3 speed tranny available and/or applicable to the xxx-nt? would it help my top speed while still having decent acceleration?

The motors come in three forms

Short shaft for Associated RC10GTs, Ntc3s etc

Standard or threaded shaft

And SG or Pilot shaft

I don't know of a 2 or 3 speed conversion for a xxx-nt or any other ST
the 2 speed is not legal for racing

Just got it and you already want to make it go to the moon LOL

Have fun

Well you can accelerate any faster than the truck wants to go. No matter what your gearing is or how good your engine is, it will just spin the tires (if you have enough tracion it will wheely). And nobody makes a 2 Speed cause you can make one go 50 with 1 gear....and you cant get up to 50 in any track made for STs lol. Like I said, you couldnt use the extra acceleration either.

O.K. noob, I have had a xxxnt for a while now and the best tires for tearing up the neighborhood in my opinon is deffinitly the smashers unless it is snowing in your neck of the woods then the the paddle tires are the way to go. As for the engine there are a lot of great engines in the $120-$200 price range. BEFORE you buy an engine see how much it cost to rebuild it. I have the fantom fr15 on my xxxnt and it is wicked. The fantom has no problem pulling the front wheels off the gound. The fantom is a very powerful engine and it revs to like 43300rpms. The best part of the fantom is it only cost $45 to rebuild. For hop-ups the only thing aluminum you want to buy is the RR alum. diff. gear. Hope this helps, Jon
