Hey.. since nobody's replied for a while I'll give my limited knowledge:

I can't really say how much space in terms of measurements, but you need to have enough space for a good long straight - for the cars to have room to breath, shift, etc. with enough turns. I'm guessing that for a good track you should set aside maybe a 100ftx100ft area, maybe less, I'm not quite sure. Just depends on how nice you want it to be.

I can give some ideas by the track we run here, our straight is currently about 210 feet stretching to over 225 ft., the width of the track is about 80 feet you also need to have room for your pit area at pit lane for your pit crews and the driver's stand, if you are going to set it up to follow ROAR regulations you need to have approx 5 feet between the track and spectator areas. then there is the pit area for racers to set up and work on their vehicles and of course parking.

hope this helps some,
Bryan

find how much land you can have and work around that. pick the location then come up with some track ideas. then go out and buy the neccisery things you will need.
