I recently purchased a hummingbird as a Christmas gift. When connecting the battery, both the main and tail rotors begin to rapidly spin after a short delay. This happens whether the controller is off or on. Any ideas what the problem is?

First, Always connect the battery after turning on the TX. Second, you may need to reverse the throttle channel on the TX. Sounds like you have the throttle channels reversed making the bird think it is at full. Insure that the motor wires from the motors to the hummingboard are plugged in correctly. Also insure that the gyro is plugged in properly as well as mounted per the instructions.

Once you get it right, it is a blast to fly.

Be sure there is a crystal in the receiver if it is a new unit. Also be sure the transmitter anr receiver crystals match. Another post had the same type problem only to find the receiver crystal taped to the packaging

You may also want to check to make sure that you have the wires from the esc going to the right spots. Mine did this when I had them reversed.

You should check this after you verify the crystal.

Good luck and yes it definately is a blast to fly.
