I'm new to this forum so hi! Now then I want to know how to tune an r40 for regular road surface or for the parking lot. I know its meant for the track but i want to practice on a big empty lot when not at the track. Also i don't want to waste money for yet another car. It will be great so me and a couple of friends can just race for fun. I don't want too expensive list of part considering i have a budget and if you can help it will be great. Sooo...what kind of cars you guys got. I love racing and i'm a great driver. Well, that what my friends say!

What kind of tires do you plan on using? I tried foams on an un-prepared surface but they didn't work well (too dusty). I like a good treaded and belted radial, in a medium compound. Most of my bashers are set up w/ 1 1/2 deg. neg. camber F. and 1 deg. rear, w 0 toe in or out F. and maybe 1 deg. R. and depending on how bumpy it is, you're probably gonna have to experiment w/ springs and shock oils. Ride ht. around 1/4 to 5/16" because I have to deal w/ concrete expansion joints. Don't know your level of experience, but there's camber link positions, and other things to play with too...

Waiting for mine in the mail! Can anyone tell me what type of crank this car needs? Does it need an SG or P crank or can it use the threaded shaft?
I hear the OS .12 TR is a great engine and about $120. I'll get this one if I can't use the engine off my RS4.

I don't have one, but from reading other posts, I believe it comes with 2 different types of clutch nuts, so you can use either an SG or std. threaded shaft w/ the centax style clutch. If you want to race, then you need a ROAR legal 3 port .12...There are several choices, and you'll probably get different opinions, but the Serio's and NovaRossi's are popular choices.
