You think it will 3D?

I got one of these 72' white Katana and looking for engine.
I can get the 2300 in a great price (i don't want OS or MOKI), i just afraid it won't be strong enough for the manuavers.

Should i get the G-3250 instead?

ThanX!!!

MMM those engines are heavy if i recall rightly..... Moki 1.35 would be the perfect one for it... if Deans hover on the 1.60 glow, the Moki is lighter and a bit more powerful still.

I can't think of anythign that would match the performance of OS or Moki.

Yap, it's like your katana Dean.

The moki 135 weight almost like the st-2300.
Good to know about the mvvs, do you have the one with the walbro carb Dean? how is the throttle response?

hi roei - at hefer we run several of the 72in funtanas - two run 180moki,s one is ziv,s and one menache's both top pilots - two others run 3w 24cc gas with marvelous results and we are building a 2m exclusive modelbau funtana for a moki180 - these engines are all great but a little heavy on the fuel - give us a visit and come see them fly. best

below some pics one is ziv then alex and then the new funtanapro from modelbau

I have na MVVS 1.60 gas and glow..

Throttle response with the walbro is excellent on the ground, but due to it not being in dead air, throttle response once airborne is not linear, which is a great problem for 3d, but it can be overcome by using air from inside the fuselage.

You also get a whole load more power when using glow with the prettner carb than petrol in the walbro carb.

My 1.60 glow is also in a 72" katana.

IF you want funtana pics, there's plenty on www.3drc.info

What kind of prop and RPM's you getting with the MOKI and MVVS? The OS 160 is turning an APC 18 x 6 at about 9000 rpms at 2860' above sea level.......

I have a MVVS 1.50 (older than the new 1.60)... with a BCM pitts muffler, and perry mega-carb and it turns a carbon fiber 18X8 about 7200... great lugging power, and somewhat economical on glow fuel.... I had the Walbro carb on it at first, even better economy on fuel, and good at low end, and mid throttle, but lacked power IMO... I might have had the high end needle to rich, but the Mvvs likes the perry carb. I fly at about 1800 feet.

Tooly,
I have a Creek Hobbies Katana (72" wing span) powered with a SuperTigre 2300 running a perry VP30 pump. I have unlimited vertical and easily power out of a hover. The ST2300 is a very powerful engine for its displacement and outperforms my friends Moki 1.35 by several hundred RPMs on all prop sizes we've tried. The only complaint I have is with my ST2300 throttle response (lean at idle, rich at mid-range, lean at full throttle).
