I've just about finished up my winter prodject. It's a Sig 1/5 scale Cub that I put a Saito 130 twin in and modified the tail for servos. It's been a very fun prodject to build and it has a lot of scale potential for contests.

Shoulds be able to hover with 130, I am using a Mag 52 fs on wine , a guy with a 100 said that it was to much power. Plane built great and flies the same. Wing loading is low so the glide forever! Have fun but it is not a trainer!!!!

Ha Steve...that is one damn good looking Cub...I really like the double latch for the door. I built that Cub many years ago...had it on floats for a few years. Seeing yours makes me want one real bad. Excellent job Steve...to bad it's under powered tho...

I am using Monokote for the covering to save weight due to the heavier motor. I have not yet finished the cowl because I am doing a two piece cowl and I have never tried this before. I am building the clipped wing version, I like it the best, to do better aerobatics. I only need to finish up the servo hatches and glue in the hinges. Cubs do nice loops, knife edge, knife edge slips, flat spins, and I may be able to do a torque roll or two with this one. Most of my flying will be done at 1/4 to half throtle. Here is a pic of the wing. I did use the stock landing gear because the Robart gear is a different size. I already had the fuse built when I thought about getting the Robart gear and after doing some reserch, I would have had to move the landing gear blocks to use it. The wing strut mount should be moved too.

Flying mine with a .48 four stroker and it pulls it around just fine.....can't wait to see you trying to land with that engine - even at idle it should be pulling <g>

I know I will have to play with props to get the right speed. With the heavier motor and added weight for ballance and the clipped wing, I think it will settle on the ground very nicely. Here are a few more pics.
