Hi,

Im new to Nitro RC and I have had a Schumacher Nitro Fusion .21 for about two months now (what a cool car ).
My problem is the fuel tank is a little small.
Does anyone know where i can get a bigger one?
Also with a bigger fuel tank would there be a major change is handling etc?

Any help is much appreciated!

Regards.

I've got one too, and it doesn't run very long, does it?! I thought about it too, and there might be a tank for some other car out there somewhere, but I haven't found one...There's not a lot of extra space available for a bigger tank. You might go taller w/ it, but then like you mentioned, the handling will be affected. Maybe a modified airplane tank? You can re-shape them w/ heat, but I don't think the sump/ pick-up would work as well. With some creativity you could make one, but personally, I don't want a bigger tank that badly...

I've been thinking about getting the Nitro Fusion and was checking out any info I could find about it. Anyway, I came across HarcoHobbies that sell them and have a message board dedicated to them. Here is what one guy did to solve his fuel problem. He modified his car to accept a T-Maxx fuel tank. He responded about half way down this thread.....

Thanks guys for your help.

I recently downloaded a video "On-Road Madness" from http://www.frequency-rc.com

It showed a stationary hotted up Schumacher Fusion for about 10 seconds with a tall fuel tank.

Any idea where the tank is from?

Regards.

Sup Haywire. My friend is the one that did that hop-up to his Fusion. It is a T-Maxx fuel tank and he placed it in the same place as the stock one, but he had to make a custom mount that extends the chassis off the side of the tank. He owns a machine shop, so he was able to make it pretty easily. You can use a piece of Plexiglass or a thick pice of lexan to do the mod. I believe he used excisting holes to mount the mount, but you may need to drill some holes to mount the tank.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the info.

Hows the handling on a full tank?

On that Fusion what is the chrome looking object behind the engine on top of the gearbox?

Regards!

I do not have the car but proptop nailed it.

Model airplane tanks come in all sizes and shapes, and like he said some of them can be formed to fit into certain areas.

Tower would be a good place to look over the tanks, as they have an extensive selection and have pictures of everything.

Straight lines its a little hard to keep straight, but that may be because there is so much power in that sucker.

The item in the back behind the engine is an MIP Temp Guage
