Justin-Ca,
For now I'm holding off on the Bullet, its everything I hoped for in a TX antenna but it weighs 5-oz and would require a 1-oz adaptor cable.
I have a 33% christen eagle and a Byron Sukhoi, if I decide to put video in them I'll try the antenna, but for the smaller plane I'm building for this year it’s just to heavy.

Wish I could get one with out the molded raydome and a SMA male connector, The person I talked to said he may be able to do it, but it didn’t work out.

I called and found out the actual weight of the MP-Bullet antenna with the standard N-Female connector is only 1.5 oz.

Time to resurrect this thread. My new cam plane is done. I've been guarding a pool for the past two nights and made 450 bucks. Time to check out that vid system over at yb2's site. The first shot is of the plane. I'm so excited about my first giant gasser I'm might stroke out! The second shot is how I mounted the canopy. As you can see it's screwed on. Earlier I posted how I wanted the cam in the cockpit and someone said it would distort the cams' view. I think he is right so I was thinking I could build the mount for the cam and just fly it with the canopy off. I don't think it will hurt anything and I will get the view I want from the cockpit. I looked at some of those cam domes, but the ppl that seel those must be on crack! Way too expensive. Any ideas on a mount for the cam would be appreciated.

Great looking plane Aaron!
I was wondering how you were coming on the project, thanks for updating the thread.
As far as camera mounting goes, I would suggest a top of the tail mount it gives a cool view of the plane for aerobatics and you can watch the ailerons / flaps move.
As big as the plane is, you could also poke a small hole in the fuse for an over the wing view and just move the camera between the two mounts.
I’d also suggest a 70 to 90 degree lens for the camera and hard mount it, don’t use a tilt or pan setup until you get good “low vibration” results.
I can’t wait to see the videos, good luck!
Jim

I patrol a subdivision as an extra job. They just spent a BIG pile of cash resurfacing the community pool and they wanted to make sure it didn't get vandalized or skated in before it gets refilled. It was real hard sitting by an empty pool all night for 25 bucks an hour! I got through a third of my Tom CLancy novel (Executive Orders). Man I sure was tempted to break out the roller blades...hehe... Anyway, I have the maiden voyage scheduled for next Sunday out at Moms' place (weather permitting). Christy will shoot the video as usual so hopefully I will have something good in a week and a half. It will be shot with my camcorder though. I still have to get a wireless system. I like the idea of mounting the cam at the top of the tail. I think yb2normal has a vid like that and it's real cool. I even worked up a little prayer for the maiden flight: Dear Lord, we thank you the flight we are about to receive. Please don't let my $1,700 plane crash... AMEN!
