I have a quick question about the fuel line from the uat tank to the pump. I had intenstions on using the hanson super trap with tygon hoses all around but a friend of mine who has the same setup suggested that i might not want to use the yellow tygon for connecting the uat tank to the pump but instead i guess a harder or different type of hose. Maybe even the blue hose that comes with the uat tank but afterwards i notice that it wouldn't fit the pump end. I have the festo fitting on the uat tank like in this picture. Has anyone had bad luck with the yellow tygon hoses all around except after the pump?

In this picture is what i had intended to replicate.

My concern would be the seal of the Tygon on the pump. It may well be OK but it is not how I do it.

I use a BVM UAT with the stiff 6mm tube supplied. I then use a Festo reducer and use smaller diameter line onto the pump. Some people don't like this idea as it puts the Festo in the suction side of the system but I have never had any problems.

As to filter, I always use one between the pump and the engine. Wren can supply a filter that I have used before with good results.

All Wren engines have a filter fitted under the FOD screen - if you look through the mesh you should see a little aluminium cylinder. You don't need another one between the pump and engine.

We use yellow Tygon on the suction side of the pump.

Festo specs are Vacuum or pressure -6 +8 BAR
so dont worry i been doing this for years.

Hi these are the pictures of my jet in your post so I may be able to give some info.

The UAT is a BVM version and the blue end is not a festo fitting. The tygon pushes over a nipple and then the blue cover is screwed over the top for additional security. I use this setup on all my jet and have never had an issue and it works very well with tygon tubing. All my engines are Wren's and I slide the other end of the tygon tubing over the nipple on the fuel pump and then secure with lock wire. The output of the pump has a festo and this connects to the 3mm festo tubing that feeds the engine. I do not use an additional filter on my model due to possibility of air leaks but I do use a orbit clunk in the main tank to filter and reduce air bubbles. In addition to this the UAT also acts as a filter and the Wren has a last chance filter installed under the FOD guard as standard at the factory. I think it is unlikely you will need to add any more filters to the model.

I do have several filters on my fuel station and make sure my fuel is clean and I must admit I have never seen any contamination in the models fuel tanks.

Hope this helps

Kirk

I am in the process of plumbing the fuel system on one of my other jets and I have just had a look at the tygon tubing and measured the bore in case there are different sizes.

The tube is 6mm OD and has a bore of 3mm and this fits the Wren fuel pump without any form of sleeve. As mentioned in my earlier post I always lockwire the tubing to make sure it is secure and make sure there is no chance of air being drawn into the system.
