Stroke of genius those Plax bottles eh, Alessio ? Light, cheap, free in fact, very easy to assemble, right capacity, fit perfectly, don't leak, transparent and plumbed in series they work to absolute perfection. They are even fairly fire resistant as I found out the hard way !! What could be better ?

Regards,

David.

those bottles even keep your teeth clean..
that's perfect!!

normally we should pay you a beer for the idea..

in this case a mouth wash is more appropriate..

i must add, mine, even suffered a crash, not leaking at all!!

In Canada there are bottles from the "Soft Soap" company. They are 590 ml each. They use the regular 28mm thread so any regular soda cap will fit. This gives a total of 1.180 lt for each flight. They fit the same as the Plax bottles. The only difference is the neck of the bottle is not as long, instead the body of the bottle is taller. This is where the extra volume comes from. The overall height is unchanged.

They both fly well, but the quality of the build is better in the Savex.

Hi
Sorry for the delay, i have been flying for 3 days!

If it is balsa then i do not think it is a Savex, i think it is a Schriener (think that is how you spell it.!)
Paul

Paul

Took a modelling knife and its not balsa but layers of glass cloth similar to the pics of SJN, in the thread at no 266 and it came with the custom protective covers by
http://www.pull-over-products.com/pull_over_english.html excellent product addition by Vacklav.

Savex is a great company, easy to deal with and his products are excellent. Vacklav at Savex would have got my next order as he offered a bargain on military colour scheme (ask him what he has in stock) but this one was just too cheap to turn down. Anyway its into the workshop (thats the garage) for a double shift to get the gold MW44 installed and plumbed up, then a few tins of the cold stuff to finish off.

Here's my latest , all tarted up ready for her trip to London for a few weeks. Already done 20 flights in Australia with the new 44 Gold and Spektrum 2.4 neither of which have missed a beat.

Paul, control throws, Elevator +/- 13 mm, aileron +/- 8mm, measure inboard, and first stage flap, 20mm, rudder about 20mm.

Regards, David G.

Thanks David

Much appreciated regarding the suggested throws information. I like your colour scheme on this L39, it will be easy to follow in the air.

Flew the hell out of mine this weekend at Wings and Wheels.
The wind was very strong and 90 deg to the runway, but this baby took it, no trouble.
The Wren 44 Gold turning and burning to perfection (as always) and the L39 taking all of the turbulence a English summer can throw at it!
Cross wind landings were fun, but once I had the balance, (full flap, a bit of right rudder and some aileron correction) it was piece of cake!
Still a GREAT model.

Paul

I 've been flying my latest L-39 as a bungee launch EDF but want to install my springair gear like i had on the turbine version. I noticed when laying out the nosegear that Savex has now put a cutout in the front former right where the nosegear unit would be attached. What is this all about? How have you guys been dealing with this?

Is your L39 a Turbine version?

Post a pic of the problem.
