ORIGINAL: rcsoar4fun I have read the mods and I am have a couple of questions. Concerning the turning, has anyone tried adding a regular rudder in addition (or perhaps in replacement) to the turn motor? If its like most other toys it would be simple enough, using a magnet arrangement. Anyone tried adding a small light ot two to the sub? It seems it would be helpful in seeing where it is going. Kristopher Hello Kristopher, The ideas here just keep on comming! [:)] To add a motorized rudder here in place of those thruster motors to turn the sub faster requires "reverse engineering". I would like to hear more on that magnet arrangement. Hydro dynamics works similar to aero dynamics, that challenge of making that regular rudder work on this 13.5" toy sub is open to anyone. About adding lights, I'm thinking of painting one of my Wal Mart subs yellow , & turn it into a sort of reseach sub. I'm planning to add those Tireflys on the sub's hull as mini searchlights. These are those flashing LED lights you mount on those on a car's tire valve, also available in Wal Mart. When I'm done with this I can use this sub even at night, thanks to those LED lights.
