Help!, I do nto understand why my new 2.5 engine is burning through glow plugs like mad. I have messed with the settings a bit but I now put them back to stock. 4 truns on the HSN and 2.5 on the LSN. It still burns plugs. I have gone through 6 plugs in 5 tanks. I am not running hot, or at least I do not think I am (about 175 to 185). Can anyone lend a hand? I do nto even have 1/2 a gallon through it and it is costing me a fortune in plugs. On the last plug I was rich, because it was smoking a little more than normal.

You are running your car way to rich the factory settings are only for break in.
and your engine should be running between 230 and 270 degrees F.
But if thats not it then I would recomend taking your engine apart and cleaning it with Nitro Engine Cleaner (I took mine to my lhs and they did it for me)
you want to do this to make shure that there isnt anything in there that would te shorting the plug or smashing the coil to pieces.

When I did that it fixed the plug eating problem.

Are you sure that you are burning them up? Maybe there just flooding out. With the wire still attached, press the plug against the head and use the ez start to see if it is glowing as bright as a new one. Or better yet, use a glow plug igniter to check the plug. If your engine is running that cool, 175-185, then I don't see how they could be burning out.

you are running to rich, lean the truck out a little and run it see how it's running and if it's not working properly lean a little more only about a 1/4 turn at a time. but you can go into traxxas.com and go to customer support and go to how to, and alot of my questions have been answered there. you can also call traxxas . the phone support is great you can talk to people that are great with all you problems .call them you will not be disapointed.
