Status: offline 		The freewing has been mentioned in some forums here before. I thought that I might suggest it as an idea for a VTOL variant.

The freewing design is also patented which means that you can obtain more information by doing a patent search.


Doing a keyword search for freewing shows us many articles with detailed information on how the system works.

The only problem that I foresee is that they use a variable pitch propeller which I don't think is available for RC, but I may be wrong.

Status: offline 		I do not understand why there has not been any comments as yet on this very interesting aircraft.
Not having read up on it properly, and even if I had, I don't think that I would be qualified to discuss the technical aspects very well.
Someone must have an idea what it is all about, so I'll try to set the ball rolling by removing the big red "0" on the replies column.
Perhaps it has been discussed to death before in the other forums which I haven't seen.
