I'd claim typo, but I have to be honest and claim ignorance until I did some research and figured out that Traxxas was doing a bit of a marketing spin.

(I learn something new every day which is why this hobby is cool)

This engine is a .15 engine. The 2.5 refers to a measurement of Cubic Centimeter displacement compared to Cubic Inch displacement (.15). This engine shares the same mounting dimension as the OS 12-15 CV Series recoil engines.

anybody have this 4-shoe set? cause i got a question
do those shoes last longer then the stock once (for dtx 18) or are they only for getting more grip/better acceleration. Thanks.

    rc racer,

i have that clutch setup, you have to sand the shoes down and clip the springs a bit shorter to fit the evader bell (there is a link a few pages back that descricbes how to do it). the setup is much better than the stock one, the engage point is higher so you get a better boost off the line & the springs won't wear out like the stock one. i am impressed. the only drawback is if you use a starter box, you'll need a lower engine mount to get the fly wheel low enough to engage with the starting wheel.

Which is a huge problem because do they even make a lower engine mount for the evader yet?

you can get after market ones, not sure who make them though. or you could file the top off the existing one.

the idle screw is the one by with the spring on it that adjusts how much the carb barrel can close. near the throttle linkage (not the LSN) on the carb.
