Status: offline 		My first kit was his GBZ, my favorite plane of all time. I've only been r/cn' fpr a year, but the kit went together so well that it flew and only took me 4 months to build. i'll probably be getting the fiberglass pants soon, the plastic ones son't want to go together so well. i also have a prob with tumbling on landings, but we have alot of crawfish holes in Louisiana and right now they're all over the runway. Not a prob for a regular plane, but the GB is so short that it like to just tumble. Check out me with mine!

Status: offline 		The CG for the 1/4 R2 is 2 3/4" from the leading edge. Sorry I don't have that in millimeters.

That's a great job especially considering it's your very first kit build! Give yourself a big pat on the back!

Status: offline 		Here is a photo of me with my 1/5 scale Page Gee Bee R2. I absolutely loved building it. It's a nice challenge and very rewarding. It flies nicely too. If I do another Gee Bee I will get the Z model from Adrian.

I have one of these built and I can get you that info this evening.How about some pics of yours,love to see it.What engine are you using>I chose the Saito .56 for mine and may change up to a .72 for a little more power.

Status: offline 		Did anyone order kits from Adrian before his Jen 9th cut off date? I ordered a 1/4 scale Gee Bee and have not recieved it yet. I have emailed Adrian and he gives me and excuse that he doesn't have this or that ready yet. I am starting to wonder if I have lost a LOT of money!!! Please let me know if any of you have gotten your kits. I am starting to get worried. Thanks

I''t all good, I ordered one and have not recieved it yet either (4/13/08). Adrian is good on his word and orders, he is just having troubles with some wood quality as I understand it. My last communication with him says they should be here any day now. They will be worth the wait, trust me. I have built 3 other planes from him and they were great. What are you going to put in yours for power?

I checked out the forum on the cub kits, from him and he said that he finally got all the wood for the Gee Bees last week. I hope we'll see them soon. I already have the 1/4 scale but due to radio problems, it was damaged. When he went back into production I jumped at another kit. Mine is repairable but I like to have a back up. I have a Super Tigre 2300 for power. I swings an 18 X 8 APC prop at 8100 RPM. I have changed to an OS carb though. It has unlimited vertical. If I were to do it again I would use an OS BGX 1 as I had to add about 5 oz of weight to the motor mount. I hate to add dead weight and you can use the throttle for speed control and the bigger prop looks better. It will do stall turns that you think that the prop will cut off the rudder. The one problem is that off grass the landing gear will bend back and the tire will be cut by the wheel pants. A little time with the Dremel enlarging the cut out will solve that. I found out the hard way when visiting a grass field. It flipped over like I hit the brakes on take off, damaging the rudder and vertical fin. It does like a head wind on landing and is a chalange in cross winds but it floats forever if you don't have a head wind. I had a chance to buy a Hostetler 1/4 scale ready to fly with a G62 but I'd rather have a Page Gee Bee anyday!! THis is the ONLY plane I own that can get the other flyers to stop and whatch when I fly. I have gotten applause on three points. It is well worth waiting for, but I just want to dive in to another box of balsa from Adrian.

I competely for got about the .25 size R-2 I have from Adrian. I bought ears ago when he offered it as a plan build. I only framed it up and never coverd it. I'll have to get off my rear end and finish it now. I was so impressed with how it was built that I had to oreder my 1/4 scale when I found he was marketing them. He tells me they all fly the same. Maybe I'll use the small one for training. lol

Status: offline 		Yep, thats how I built my "Z" version you see in the posts above (Scratched from RCM Plans by Adrian). I also did the same with the 1/5 scale version of the "R2" ( I have both wing halves built and all patterns and pcs. cut to complete the fuse), I just put it down and started on another project , I do need to get back to that one as well. I have read and talked with others that say these fly very well too.
I also built one of his "New Bees", it is all framed up and ready to dry install the radio gear then cover, another on that built very well just from plans.
I am thinking of running a Saito 180 in my 1/4 scale R2 (Most of my engines are Saitos).
Unfotunatley I fly off of grass so it sounds like I need to do what you suggested and that is what I had to do with my "Z" as well in order to get the wheel clearance on the pants.

I just checked my charge account on line. There was another charge to Page Aviation !! That must mean it was shipped yesterday!! I hope the delivery truck doesn't fall in the river. I think it should be here the middle of next week. I'll be using the parts to make templates to repair my other one first. I wonder if I can make tracings of the parts and enlarge them to 1/3 or 1/2 scale? I bet the 1/2 scale would fly fine on a g-62 or a 4.2 gasser. Just a wild thought. You can check out a 1/2 scale Gee Bee at G&L Hobbies. They even have a video of it. They sell some of the biggest planes around. Out of my budget.

I just bought (today) a 30% scale version of the "Z" version from a guy that was the second owner and never built it either, I have a DA50 for power....Ohhh yea ! It's going to be a nice addition to my Gee Bee fleet...Yes!

Did you get your Gee Bee yet? Mine came today. I ordered the radial engine kit for it as well, but It didn't come with it. I emailed Adrian to see if was in a third box. I know he makes them at home and hemay not have had the time to make any yet.
