What is "New" about the New generation ASP 4 stroke engines? Are they really better than the old ones? Seems the history on RCU has the older models rated well behind OS and Saito. Is that still the case?

I have a 52 4str one new one old cannot see any there are the same as magnum
(out of same plant in china) The new 2 strks are "improved" ? use a new head
shape sort of square and maybe a little better breathing just got their 91 its a knock off of OS.very smooth runner
you can swap parts with OS
back to the 4 strks have the 52s and 30s and a 1.2 never a problem

About 3 yrs ago, Sanye, the manufacturer, "improved" the four strokes. I don't kow anything about the .30 but the outward apperance on the other four strokes was changed by sharper graphics on the name plate and larger radii fillet braces. At about the same time they brought out the .61 four stroke as an enlargement of the .52 engine. The 1.20 was changed also by the position of the crankcase vent and connecting it to the intake manifold. Recently, they've introduced the .70 which is in a larger case than the .61. The .70 appears to be like the .91 in exterior deminsions? I don't have a .70. I have a old style ASP .65 that turns a 13-6 at 10,600 rpm but it too is in the larger case.

I have a couple of the .61's, a .91, and a 1.20 all in the new style with some being Magnum and some ASP brands.

My ASP FS .91 will turn a 14-8 as fast as my OS 91 Surpass I will turn a 14-6. (The ASP has more Power than the OS) Which may not always be the case for engines vary in power somewhat.

Enjoy,

Jim

Jim I had on OS26 in my thunder tiger lazy cub it was ok but I thought a litle weak
on power.one of the guys wanted it for a scale project so I sold it and replaced it
with a magnum 30 4 strk (which has a 2 needle carb) I called Paul back at Just engines to get an other one which he had now under the SC label for my pacific aeromodel
tiger moth has an 11x4 wood zinger maybe turning 9000 (best guess at this point
did not write it down) inverted no on board glow driver. Since then OS has punched
the 26 to a 30 which should give it a little more, an other call to paul and it came as
an ASP for a 3 channel trainer I am going to let my wife learn on which is now getting
a PAW 19 diesel so the ASP is still in the box , Anyway you look at it mag/asp/sc
were a lot less than th OS or saito 30s I think they were $100 or less from JE
Now the UK pound has jumped from about 1.40 to 1.75US so the savings are
reduced this jumps them to about $120

I use the 12-6 APC. With 10% fuel they run right at 10,000 after being broken in. One is Magnum fom Hobby People and the other ASP from Just Engines. They look just alike except for the name on the side.
