Hi! All!

Soloed in 1996' in a Piper Warrior. Got my Private in 1998. Finished my instrument in 2003, and my commercial in 2004. Finishing up my CFI. I have a Cessna 172A which I love, and just bought a 150hp Citabria last year.

I love to fly off of grass strips in the mountains! That is real flying!.....Spend the whole Saturday bouncing around visiting everybody!

I have been building R/C for over 35 years. Collect all kinds of model engines.

Fly Safe!

How did you get 50 hours as a 717 FO? Aren't those jobs long-term?

Also, it's "Bombardier".

I just realized that my first post on this thread was 2 1/2 years ago. That's a pretty long running thread. Since my last post I got a job in Minneapolis (in the winter, of course) flying cargo in Cessna 310Rs (have the Hostetler plans for one - gotta build it someday), then just over a year ago got a job with Comair (a Delta commuter) flying CRJs and am still there. I've already been laid off once and will be taking a pay cut pretty soon. I'm trying to get some time off in August so I can go back to Seattle to fly seaplanes for a couple weeks. Other than that, I'm back on a reserve schedule so I don't fly much now - just keep my phone with me and spend a lot of time at the RC field. As long as the paychecks keep coming I guess it's not too bad of a deal. Wouldn't mind getting away from the airlines if I had the chance, though.

It's actually 737, its a typo, I just noticed. I got the time through eaglejet.net, right out of college for some time building. The first 3 were all through eaglejet, and the rest, the caravan, is through a local airport.

I had to LOL. I spent 5.5 years on reserve during my commuter days, and a lot of that time was spent on the RC field as welll! Getting paid (pitiful wages, but.....) to fly RC models wasn't too bad, but it wasn't as good as it sounded to the other guys. Bring tied to a beeper 19 days a month was not fun.

It can be a long road to a decent job, and there aren't even many of those left! I got lucky, but still spent 10 years in 6 commuters, 1 corporate and one night freight outfit before getting hired by a major (WN). Even then, I got extremely lucky to get hired by a well run company. I am in my 11th year here, and it is great! Hang in there......

Is that one of those places where you pay the employer to work for them? I don't get it.......

FWIW, you probably could have landed a Caravan job without spending the $$$ to get a few token hours in jets. There are no short cuts, I'm afraid......... No offense intended......

So, you need a few hours in a 737 and Lear to get a King Air job? That does not compute .

There are alot of guys on here that are in the biz and your posts arent adding up. Other guys have questioned you, but I'm still perplexed at how you get your ATP and three type ratings without knowing basic radio phrasiology? Thats like a truck driver saying he drives all kinds of trucks but has problems with the whole stick shift thing.

http://www.eaglejet.net/FCatalog.asp?Submit=Display

Their 737 program coupled with their Lear Bombraider program is alot of money to invest to fly a BE-350.

You say you fly the Caravan now, that is a great airplane. After I left, the freight company I used to fly for, replaced the Beech-18 routes (including mine) with Caravans.

Although I think your description of your aviation career is a little embelished, you enjoy R/C and that is the common interest on RCU, all else shouldnt matter.

Tripple Power, Id like to thank you, you guys are great, I have JS'd many times to get to work when I was based in IAH (thru MSY). I brought the whole fam back from LAS on you guys last month when our airline weight restricted and left with 30 opened seats... ARGH!
