Congrats to the fella above on passing the checkride!

I am a starving flight instructor in Kenai, AK and I flew as a first officer in a DC-6 for the summer. I also fly as a check pilot for CAP. I just recently got started in RC planes and I love it! It's something I am able to do with many of my students outside of instructing. Come fly in Alaska!

Commercial & Instrument, SEL 500 Hours, 25 in "V" Bonanza, .5 in a Stagerwing, mostly Cessna to 205 & Piper to Cherokee 235. Also an ultralight on floats and 10 Hrs in sailplanes. To old and poor to fly big ones anymore, but full scale was easier than RC for me. If anyone in the northern GA area needs a copilot, or safety pilot for 'under the hood' work, let me know.

I feel TOTALLY inadequate reading some of these amazing threads of you jet jockeys on here AMAZING jobs and planes some of you fly!!!!!

Me a total novice in comparison, about 80 hours total time ratings on C152 C172 and cherokee. Bought a house so cannot afford the flying, but miss it terribly!! would have loved to have gone for it full time though

Here is what I am flying now though

The Stinson SR6 photo was taken the summer of 1951. The kid in the center (me) and the fellow on my right were the owners. Three years ago I spotted the airplane at Oshkosh beautifully restored. The owner had records of it going back to when we owned it and brought it to a local airport and took me for a ride in it. The Citabria is my current airplane. Larry

Hey slick95 !!!
I remember seeing it!!!
You got a good camping spot, at least you weren't clear down in the south 40, or down to the Fondulac City Limits! LOL!
The unique window sunblock guard caught our attention.Bet I made several
hundred passes during the week. I'm one of those guys who rides around during the day and night
in the Vintage Security vehicles.I drove up with my camper this year, and camped in Camp Scholler along the
west fence line for Audreys Park. We were on 35th street, right across from the Ford Fly-In Theater.
Set in my front yard and watch and listen to the movies every night between patrol runs.
For anyone reading this the Ford Fly-In Theater is a big inflatable movie screen with projection booth.
Folks come over, bring camper chairs, blankets , etc, and watch aviation flicks every night. It's all part
of the free entertainment at Oshkosh. Also included on opening day was a free two hour Beach Boys
concert courtesy of Ford Motor Company.

Here's a couple pics one is my PA16 Clipper, one with Chuck Hamilton who did my nose ART, another is my Replica Hawker Hurricane 5/8 scale powered with an auto conversion V8 it's not copmplete as yet and is forsale. Back in the 80's I got the chance to fly a real Spitfire Mk lX and I loved every micro second of it. I flew around in choppers in Viet NAm and this just hieghtened my desire to fly from childhood. I've been a Warbird Judge at Oshkosh for many years and can'tfind any reason enough not to keep doing it.

Yup, there has been a sort of rivalry between the Antique'ers and the Warbirds for many years !! lol Don't know when or why it started, I do remember when a car was painted up for John T. Baugh, it was referred to as his Warbird.
Pink Bomb !!! That would have gone good on Sue Parrish's Pink P-40. She doesn't fly anymore and now resides in California, she was/is a very nice lady, lots of History with her.
Hope to see ya's at Oshkosh next year.

We snuck down there one night, and painted that big bomb by Warbirds Hq, and painted it pink. That's been a long time ago. 2 years ago, warbirds snuck down and filled VAA volunteer booths in front of the VAA Red Barn full of hay bales, and they got caught, but not until after the deed was done!
My buddy Tim Fox ( VAA Security Chief), lined em up against the booth walls and took their "mug shots" LOL!
Next day their pictures were published in VAA's "Aerogram" newspaper, LOL!
But we all had fun that night! Lots of great folks in Warbirds!
Tim works on the EAA Aluminum Overcast crew quite often, travels around with them and usually runs the sales trailer for the t-shirts, etc.
My other buddy Sean Elliot(EAA Flight Director) just got bumped up the ladder, Tim said that Tom Poberezny is stepping down as Prez of EAA and someone else is taking over.
Probably be in the next issue of Sport Aviation.
