Status: offline 		I came up with a very similar set up last December but it requires a few less angle joints. These are cheap and work great.

I used a 45 angle above instead of a straight piece. Did tow things for me. As before, it decreases the number of elbows you need and the angle also acts as a stop or "kick stand" to keep the hangar from rotating. Two sheet rock screws into a joist and no probs.

Status: offline 		Sorry to drag up an old thread. But this is one of the few good ones with plane stands.

If you want stiffer long sections of PVC without buying the expensive thick wall stuff.
Easiest thing to do is cut a 1/2" slot lengthways in a second length of PVC, brush some PVC glue onto the original piece then clip the length with the slot on it over the top of the original length.
