Hey all,

I finally started on my first plane, the SPAD Debonair. Some of you may know of the troubles I had finding a suitable substitute for yardsticks. Well, I finally settled on pine window moulding. It is incredibly light, with the only drawback being one side of it has been cut at an angle so you have to be careful, making sure that everything is the right way up.
Anyway, I have glued the spar assemblies together and just wanted to check that chordwise means in a trailing edge to leading edge direction, as the plans call for the flutes to travel in a chordwise direction.
Thanks

yep. chordwise means from leading edge to trailing edge. Spanwise means from wingtip to wingtip.

I've come up against a problem.

Last night when my ad and I glued the spar assemblies together we used a jig to get the angle right, yet this morning I found that for some reason one spar assembly was quite a bit off from the other. I have since pulled it off the brace and will try to re-glue this evening. I will try and post a picture.
