I'm almost finished with my first attempt at building with fiberglass. this is a flying wing style aircraft with a swept back wing, semi- symmetrical airfoil. I cut the wings and fuselagefrom eps foam then glassed them in 2.1 oz cloth. no pictures yet but here are some specs

wing span 26 in
wing area 227.5 sq in
auw (motor & battery) 38 oz.
mega 16/15/3
cc's 60 amp esc'
4s2p irate lithium polymer pack (44amp continuous)
cg approx. 6.5in from leading edge (15%mac)

I ran some tests using my astro watt meter, wow!!!
5.5x4.5 apc prop full throttle pulls 50amps 562watts.
will definitely have to use throttle control here

some have told me that the 16/15/3 can not handle the heat past 30amps so I designed the plane to where the motor is completely in the air-stream. I've flown other delta wings of mine like this pulling 40 amps and have had no problems.
I plan to test fly the plane with primer coat only until I get the hang of flying her then will do the finish paint.
hope to post some pics soon

here it is almost done, still need to do the bottom color scheme, any ideas? I want to use bright neon red-orange for visibility
so much for test flying with primer coat only. Its still too cold outside and I couldn't hold back on painting her.

here's the bottom all finished

That is a great looking delta. What does your battery pack weigh?

My unpainted 36 inch ws Vulcan, attached photo, weighs 16 oz. without radio gear, motors or battery.

I am looking into building a flying wing. does anyone have any comments on the possibility of a ducted fan flying wing constructed from reinforced low density moulded foam. My spec is rather wierd as i want it to fly as slow as possible.

I realsie this is a pretty unspecified (and unknowledgable) question but i am trying to get an idea of what problems i am likely to face.

Thanks

I am just doing a 36 Chance Vought Cutlass at the moment.

Attached photo of my free flight cat launch Cutlass.

You tell me what you want and I probably have it.
