Hi all,

While I can fly the heck out of a few airplanes, I really feel lost about which battery charger to get. I have read most of the material in cyber space and still don't know. I just feel more lost.

My choices as I see them, Sirrus Pro or Pro + (?) Super Turbo by Dymond or the Super Nova by FMA....I don't want to start a war just get a charger that I can be totally confident in as my airplanes get bigger and more expensive.

Today I bought a Sirrus discharger and so far think it is the best, I have been scared by not monitoring my packs for the last year or so, after my old Accu-charger died. I now use a Ace Super Smart Charger and a Hobbico field charger. I am using the Sirrus unit to see if there is a difference in capacity these two chargers. I will post results if anyone is interested.

Thanks in advance,

Sorta depends on your needs.

For example, her is the list batteries I use:

1 cell glow igniter 1300 mah
4 cell 700,1100,1650,1800, 2700 mah, nicd & nimh
5 cell 1100,1800,2700 mah nicd & nimh
6 cell nicd for wireles starter
7 cell nicd for large wireless starter
8 cell 1100 tx packs.

I use the Dymond Super Turbo, it does them all very well and for a very low cost, $109.00.

The Sirius products are very good. They are limited to the # of cells that can be charged, limited capacity (depending on which Sirius unit you get), and have a limited charge rate (550, 1 amp, 2 amp depedning on model). Each of them are more expensive than the Super Turbo. The only 2 advantages the Sirius have is they can charge 2 packs at 1 time and they have a lifetime warranty.
