WHO MAKES A TURBINE CONVERSION KIT FOR A STARFIRE 2? WHAT TURBINE DO YOU RECOMMEND? WILL IT BE A BIG PROBLEM DOING THIS? I BELIEVE MINE WAS A TOM COOK BEFORE HE SOLD TO YA.

Hey,
Yellow Aircraft International makes a beautiful starfire 2. They have an ARF turbine or an ARF for ducted fan. I believe that the SimJet 1200 would push it around quite a bit.

Any of the 12 pound thrust class turbines would be perfect.

My StarFire setup.

Y/A turbine inlet
Kevin W's Turbine by-pass
TGA Interceptor conformal tanks (2L)
Mickey's A-1 Hobby thrust tube.
RAM 750P

Dry wt: 14.2 lb

I prefer the Y/A turbine inlet because it is smaller in diameter, and gives you more room for fuel.

Corey is Correct!

The Starfire has flown with everything from the GWM FD3-67 to the Ram 1000 with very good results. I've had a Ram 1000 and a Simjet 1200 in mine. You can get everything you need to convert it from Yours Truly.

Thanks!

Scott,

I hate to have to ask, but would you mind putting at least a LITTLE CLUTTER in there so I'll feel better about my own installation? It's supposed to be an airplane, not a laboratory. We're pouring gas in there, not eating off of it. Thank you for correcting the problem.
