Its not that the novak spy is gonna make yur mini-t faster etc... the point is when people want to change servos and or motors in some cases u need to change the receiver and ESC so in turn is it worth it? wel its just a matter of what you intend to do with it. if you plan to go brushless at some point i recommend not getitng it just go from yur stock setup to brushless etc...

I've been running the hs-55 for a while now, i was running the 81mg but i had to modify the chassis to get it to fit and it didnt fasten down well so i went to the hs-55, its taken tons of hits and tumbles and still works great. i do wish it was a little faster tho. The spy specs say it can only run up to a 280 sized motor. it will run a speed 300 but i wouldnt take the chance of using 7 or 8 cell batt packs. i would get a cheap esc not made for mini rc's. right now im running a mtroniks rv15 and really dig it. any small esc will work. just make sure its gonna be able to handle things you plan on doing to your mini t. I bought the mtroniks cuz its waterproof and will go down to a 15 turn and i can use it in other electonic rc's.

Ok i got the bluebird today, installed it today, made sure i didnt mount it too tight lol. anyways, i finally ran my mamba, i geared it down a little more toward stock, as I also have the pinion pack from trinity.

I am running the 11 tooth pinion, w/ the 58 tooth spur i believe its the 58 tooth, anyways its the smaller of the 2 spurs. It is about the same as my trinity micro monster wild. But... I also geared the micro monster wild higher. I would describe the mamba as "Explosive" the power is nice off the line, and w/ the slipper it is fully controlled. I am running w/ 7.2 volt packs, I am definatly going to switch to LiPoly soon. I like the run time, as I seem to gain an extra 5 minutes.

here is the final tally of my mods so far..

    1 Purchased stock mini t.
2 Purchased 2 battery packs, 1 team losi pack w/ charger, 1 dynamite pack.
3 Purchased 1 Trinity Micro Monster Mod motor.
    4 Purchased Bearing set
5 Purchased Team Losi oil filled shocks filled w/ 15wt oil scrapped the oil, and went w/ 25wt
6 Purchased new pinion gears and spur for a higher top end.
7 Purchased Micro Monster "Wild" Mod Motor
    8 Purchased MIP Ball Differential
    9 Purchased MIP CVD shafts
10 Purchased Racer's Edge Slipper clutch.
11 Purchased Team Losi Titanium Turnbuckles, and ball cups
12 Purchased Lunsford "Clear" slipper gear cover w/ slipper nut access
13 Purchased screw upgrade kit from rcscrewz.com
    14 Purchased Mamba 5400 Brushless motor/ESC
15 Purchased twice not by choice lol Bluebird 380mg metal geared Micro Servo
16 Purchased Airtronics Servo Saver, but have yet to mount it as the bluebird servo has quite the large end to it, its full sized so this servo saver is going to have to be modded or something.
17 Purchased Racer's Edge aluminum Motor Guard

I believe this is everything I have done,

I have tossed to the side the stock ESC/Reciever Radio, The brushed motors, and the stock servo.

Future upgrades will be the 11 volt lipo cells/charger.

I cannot wait to get this thing going fast fast. But for now I am satisfied.

    But...

For more bang for the buck, get the Trinity Micro Mod "wild" motor, I think for the money its the best upgrade. Not to mention the battery packs.

My bud w/ the XXX T is so jealous he is thinking of getting a Novak Brushless as he hates to clean out motors too lol

I hope i listed everything. I'll post a pic soon.

*edit* oh yeah I also have a JR XR2 radio and Reciever. I am liking it so far, I may stick w/ it. Not to mention it looks cool.

OH yeah I forgot to add i have the little rpm bumper installed also.

As soon as I put in my Orion Baja motor I took a direck hit to the nose and broke the front shock tower. I think it was driver error but I was to drunk to remember. Word of advice: if you make it faster, make it stronger. I put in a set of aluminum arms, a wide bumper and shock tower out front. You may want to follow suit.
