I have a brand new OS 91 Surpass engine and require the muffler and header to point away from the plane cowling as I am flying a Cessna on floats by Modelfly (ABS plastic) and need to move heat away form the body of the plane (Plastic) so it wont melt. I am able to get about 2 flights only per header pipe! I have now used up 2 headers as they break right near at the beginning of the thread on the Cylinder head side of the pipe. Can asnyone you advise me what the problem is and how can I solve this problem including any suggested exhaust header pipes you might recommend?

Status: offline 		Sounds like you may have a slight vibration problem? Are your props balanced? If they are you need to clamp and brace the muffler. On some of the early OS 4s they provided a piece of metal and a clamp to brace the muffler to the firewall. This kept vibration from breaking the muffler or the header.
Another alternative would be to use one of the mufflers from Performance Specialties at www.pspec.com They may have something that will work for you.
