From RCTOM:
Yes, the March shipment will contain mostly Extras, only 50 Edges.

The Extras are built on the Edge fuselage as a base, it's well tested and has never shown any structural problems. The same tailfeathers are used as well.

We changed the wings, cowl, and landing gear on the "Special" and on the 300L we also lowered the wing placement in the fuse. In addition there have been a few minor changes to improve the receiver tray layout.

Wing span is still 84". Area is now 1365 sq. inches, length is still 76". Weight is the same, 16-18 pounds. For some reason even though the ailerons on this are the same size as the Edge they seem to work much better, the roll rate is extraordinary.

The CG is a little farther forward, so lighter engines will balance better than they do on the Edge, so a DA 50 is a great engine for the Extras. I've flown with a MVVS 58 and it's great with that also. G62 fits well and runs good. I have heard the ZDZ-60 has muffler clearance issues, but I do not have details on what type of muffler was involved. Other than that the ZDZ-60 will be a great fit as will the ZDZ-50 NG.

Anyone else excited about this? The WH Edge is a great plane. I'm really excited about seeing this 28% WH Extra!

FYI the web site now has a sectionon the new 28% Extras with photos. The red/white/blue one is the Extra Special, the one in red/yellow/black is the 300L.

That scheme is so awesome, seriously, the nicest scheme I have ever seen on an ARF. period! I would buy that just for the scheme lol

Hah! Like I can fly that well. I don't see any real difference between them, get the one that looks better to you.

For daily flying around I have more time in on the Special, and it's one of the nicest flying airplanes I have ever flown. But I have someone flying the 300L also and he loves it, so, like I said, get the one that looks the best to you.

I'll get some bunnies, I hope. Panesl are planned. Pilots are widely available but for now we have not settled on one to sell. The Brison 3.2s will be sold here too, it's a nice engine at a good price.

We have not begun any formal advertising yet for the Extras so January/early February orders will be early on the list. Magazine ads start about March 1, then all bets are off.

Tom,

Do you have a "brighter" color scheme on the Extra ? I prefer something that has less red especially on the fuse belly.

Thx.....

No but you can get an all white one and do your own thing.

Tom,

Any chance you will be offering any other solid colors on your planes? Somthing starting off solid red may be of interest!

If they are not all covered yet I can ask for a plain red one. For me to do that you'd need to place an order, please call me at 817-430-0107.

Real nice write-up on the website for this new extra, Tom. Not the typical 'marketing hype', but some genuine, usable information. Selling off some stuff now in preparation for that March delivery. Real excited about this new bird. Thanks for putting this one together for us, Tom.
