with Cox power. I ain't real proud of this one....it had quite a rep at the field while I was flying(?) it. It was a quick, thrown together experiment last summer in the world of deltas. 20" span white foam slab wing covered in Doculam, 304 sq. in., 11 oz. 4 channel, exhaust sleeve throttled TD .049, sliding tray mixer. On a good day (rare) it would come in on slow final at about 45 deg. AOA and would actually hover if no wind came along to disturb it.

The problem was getting the CG in a a spot that would allow a tiny bit of stability but not kill off the neat inverted flat spins and the hover. It was designed with a very small fixed vertical with a LARGE rudder area for wild gyrations. At certain mid-range speeds and AOA, the vertical would get blanked out by the wing and it would absolutely go nuts and gyrate off to who knows where, much to my chagrin and to the delight of all the guys belly-laughing at it's antics and my panic-stricken face. It's now being punished in my aircraft museum closet.

On a good day I could drag the tail in the grass.

Whoa...Get that thing too close during a tail touch, and youve got a helluva ankle biter!
