I blew a brush on my HB after 5 days. I had to wait 6 weeks for a new motor, the shop I deal with had GWS 280's (for slow flyers) in stock so I thought I'd give it a try. THEIR NOT THE SAME, I was lucky to get it a foot off the ground. I decided to take a peak inside and noticed that the only thing inside thats the same are the brushes. Needles to say I took them out and put them in the old motor. I'm flying as good as ever. Just though I'd share this info to others. BUY THE RIGHT MOTOR.

FYI,

If you want to feel a little more difference, you should go with the 280BB, but you have to invest more money.

Yes the speed number referance is merly a can size referance, within the engine the can be differencies to magnets, type, size 2 or 3, the wounds,, thicknes, number of wounds and single, double or tripple wiring. All these in combination determines the characteristics of an electric engine, torq, rpm, power consumption operating voltage and so on. So if you get a 280 with lots of wounds and thinn single wiring,, it will move slower and have less torq,,dunno if thats a rule im no expert on this. Where as if you get an engine with few wounds and thick wiring it will give more power,,land also consume more battery. So it all about finding the engine that produces enough power and use the battery efficient at its common operating rpm and load.

Hi MUGGA

According to my DF box, my stock motor is EM150. There is an optional replacement/upgrade for main motor (EM350). I check out GWS website and the EM350 is smaller than EM150 and yet it spin faster then the EM150 (I think more than double... can't remember). I think u need to change your tail motor to a higher speed (Cylinder type of shape.. can't remember the model also) if you change to EM350.
