Status: offline 		I'm with the Daz man on this one, I've got 5 of these servos in a GP 1/4 scale G-202 and they center up just dandy! I've talked to a lot more folks that like them than dislike them but it does sound a bit like a bad batch of potentiometers got into some of these servos at some point in time.....could be a QC issue at Hitec.

Status: offline 		I have been using 605s in 1/4 scale for several years without problems. I use the Dubro heavy duty arms that are made for the Hitec. However, my latest use of 605s are showing a problem. During a flying session they seem to center fine however the center changes from day to day. I flew last friday - 4 flights and everything was fine on each flight. Then Sunday I went to the field with the same plane and the center position on both airleron servos had moved. One took about 40 units of subtrim (8UAF Tx) and the other took about 20 units - both had moved the same way. After recentering using subtrim they were fine for all 3 flights on Sunday. These servos only have about 20 flights on them and were new this spring. I have been using 605s in very similar aircraft/engine/radio setup for several years without any problems. This same problem has happened several times on this plane. Is it possible something is shifting in value in my RX (8 channel hitec)??If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate a response.

Status: offline 		If you've never reviewed the Deadband specs for the Hitec servos you are considering, you can find most of them here:

Just click the link for any servo and check the spec.

I don't think any normal servo (retracts have a large deadband) has a wider deadband than the 6XX series (8"mu"sec) - some the same, but none wider. Of course, the digital versions sport a deadband of only 1.

Status: offline 		Flyindy, I would not fly those servos until I had Hitec take a look at them, are they still under warranty? This sounds similar to the problems others have been having with these servos. You say that you have gotten years of use out of other 605s on other aircraft but this is the first time you have had a problem? I'd definitely contact Hitec, sounds like a bad potentiometer. Mike Mayberry what do you think?

Status: offline 		The 5475 servo only costs $5 more than the 605 and is digital. Even though it is rated 10 oz-in less than the 605 it will bring that torque to bear much sooner and seem to be much stronger. If you want a good centering servo with good torque this is the way to go. Lets congradulate Hitek for bringing the price down on the digital servo. This servo and others like it are going to replace the standard servo in my opinion.

Status: offline 		You are probably right, I haven't had any centering or reliability issues thus far with my 605s but I'm starting to wonder if I wouldn't be a lot happier with digitals.
