I'm not complaining about the engine, I'd be a fool to do so. I just think it needed to look more like a 69' GTO. The new ones look more like the G6 or a Grand Am than how I think a GTO should look. But who knows, maybe they'll spice it up a bit in the coming years.

mopar...
clear something up for me?

Everybody complains about how the new Mustang is too retro.
then everybody complains that the new GTO ISN'T retro enough?
what gives? MHO the car looks great, it's fast, handles well, and gets decent gas mileage.

I don't understand why people say the new Mustang is too retro either. In my opinion it's a perfect mix of the classic Mustang lines with just the right amount of modern design thrown in. Maybe the problem here is a generation difference. People who are into the Mustang have seen it develop trough the decades and probably didn't expect such a dramatic throwback to the original, and since a large number of young Mustang fans are (uugh!) sport compact fans as well, they probably expected it to look more like the previous model. On the other hand, the GTO was discontinued for sevral decades, so trying to come up with a modern interpritation from nothing must have been pretty hard. I will give Pontiac credit for that, because the new design really does look like something you would expect to have evolved alongside it's other models. I just wish it could have turned out more like the modern Firebird with a 69' GTO twist. Think about it, wouldn't that be an awesome car?

yes thunderbirdjunkie i think that is a frewer body, they make the Holden and ford
V8 supercar bodies. hte red one is a Holden Racing Team commodore and the blue one is a Stone Brothers Racing falcon driven by Marcos Ambrose who is going the the usa to race NASCAR next year, he won last years V8 supercar championship and is on top of the standings with only about 4 rounds to go this year

That's what I was hinting at earlier. GM did a crappy job remodeling it in my opinion.

The new mustang looks like crap. I'm a Ford guy, always have been, and I think they did a piss poor job on that car. The engine performance is great, the handling is ok, but the body lines are terrible. The proportions on the car are all way off, to me comes off like they were just trying too hard. It looks like a poorly designed toy.
