Status: offline 		Hello, I just finished a tp spit, the plane weigts 4.7 kgs (about 10,3 lbs), i installed an OS 91 surpass on it. Today i bougth an Os 120 surpass III because im building a Super Skybolt, and i´m thinking to install it on the spit, because i will take out a fair amount of lead of the nose.
somebody have experience with this airplane?

Status: offline 		I feel your pain! I finished one earlier this year and yes I had to add weight to the front of mine. I have a Laser 1.00 in the front of mine. Mine came in a little heavier at 11lbs.
Did you paint your's? I did mine.
This kit has been notorious for being tail heavy. I didn't pay enough attention to the tail during assembly.
But it still flys well. Not sparkling ! But it does fly!
The 1.20 will pull it "VERY WELL" but you may have a hard time slowing down. The flaps, if you built them in, aren't that effective at slowing you down. They do make landings a bit more stable! Use them any way and go for as much deflection as you can get.
With the 1.20 you may want to try the Graupner 14x7 3 blade prop for a little added ground clearance.

Status: offline 		I got a Surpass 91 on my and no complaints at all about the flying habits. i did have to add a chunk of lead to the engine mount box. The added weight is not noticeable. Make sure your firewall is pinned and you use tri stock on the corners! My firewall fell off (fortunately on the ground) and I have heard this happening to others......

Status: offline 		Thanks for the answers, yes, I painted mine but with desert camouflage, i will post some pictures soon, i build it with flaps, pneumatic gear and cockpit, and I had to put about 400 gr on lead in the nose.

Its fully glassed, air retracts an aluminium spinner, flaps and a ASP 80 fs. Probably be 9lbs when finished and I was worried that it would be over weight. What have I missed?
