Hi people

THIS TOPIC IS NOT FOR THOSE WHO SAY: "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE".

Our slogan is: "LEARNING 3D STEP BY STEP", with intelligence and fun.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE is no use at all and tedious.

Outdoors it is very cool. But we can learn with REAL FLIGHT G2 SIMULATOR.

I think Real Flight G2 (I bought it this Christmas) is a blast to learn 3D, hover and torque roll.

If you haven't got a powerful computer you can do this:

1 - "Airport" menu > uncheck "3D Terrain" and "Show Trees".
2 - "Airport" menu > "Item Visibility" > uncheck all items except "Runway" and "Grass".
3 - "Options" menu > "Graphics Optimizations" > "Graphics Quality" > "Texture Quality" and "Graphics Quality" > move the slider
to the left and choose "Low".
4 - "Options" menu > uncheck all options except "Use Mip Map".

To learn step by step we can do this:

"Options" menu > "Miscellaneous" > "Misc. Physics Options" > "Time Multiplier" > the more you reduce the percentage,
the more the plane moves slowly.
F2, F2, F2... to make the plane bigger.

I think we can begin to learn with 60 - 70 %.

TO ALL INTELLIGENT (It is more difficult to teach than to learn) 3D EXPERTS WE ASK:

What exercise we can do as first step? Which first ability must we acquire?

Please don't say a lot of things at the same time. One exercise, only one.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, SUCK SUCK SUCK

Thanks a lot

REal flight is good to help you learn on but there is NO WAY your going to learn everything on there and just go out to the field and be able to fly like the pros. YOu can be able to torque roll all day long on G2 but if you have never done it with a real plane there is no chance that you will go out and do it. Practice Practice Practice. When your learning steps your Practicing

Victor,

In due time, I want to hear what your advice is then.......Apparently you do not know how to 3D yet....Learn all you can on the simulator and then go out to the field and see what you can do for real.....REALFLIGHT is a good learning tool, but it exaggerates the learning curve. On realflight, the planes can be manipulated VERY EASILY to do what you want it to do.....This isn't true in the real world.....You have to build it perferctly and have to be able to set everything up perfectly to get it to fly perfectly.....Again, it is a good tool, but until you get some real world experience under your belt you will not realize how silly your comment was.

I set my aircraft up as close to the real thing in G2,and I practice on rainy days.It helps to get the joystick inputs correct on complicated manouvers, and we all get alot more daring, since a crash means nothing.Just a flick of the space bar,and you have a perfect airplane again.
I cannot fly nearly as good at the REAL field,as I do at home.So this afternoon I am going outdoors and practice practice practice, and if something does not go wrong with my plane or all the other 101 things you need to look out for,I will practice a bunch more. Then tomoriow if the weather is good I think I will repeat these steps.Next week I go to work,to make money and save for a better plane,so I can practice some more.... Too bad they dont have a computer space bar at the field!

of course you don't need practice! all you need is a pro to tell you what to do then you go right out and do it.
i can tell you how i learnt over 6 months and how i help others, but unless they practice practice practice they get nowhere.
the only time you get it is when hanging suddenly snaps and you can do it. in one flight i went from helpless high up hangs, to hanging under control low down, next flight had a tail touch.

Hi Phillybaby,

Can you please explain yourself in a more simple way?
I can't understand english very well.

What do you mean with "the only time you get it is when hanging suddenly snaps and you can do it. in one flight i went from helpless high up hangs, to hanging under control low down, next flight had a tail touch".

Thanks a lot

Try to do this, very expert 3D:

REAL FLIGHT G2 > "Options" > "Miscellaneous" > "Time Multiplier" > increase the percentage to 200%
and, Dear CAPtain232, use extra special with high rate and then tell me again that I'm silly.

i learnt to hang over 6 months, at the end of this i could hold a hang at 20' up letting it drift downwind but i couldn't hold it still into wind.
one flight i was alone and just having fun, i came in low and hovered over the patch, i found myself over the next few mins pulling more and more up in, more throttle and using the rudder rather than the ailerons.
all of a sudden i was hanging 2' up right over the patch holding still, I!! took the plane out of the hang a couple of mins later when i was getting low on fuel.
so for me the ability to come in low, pull hard up, hit the throttle and hold it came suddenly after months of practice.
after that it's like landing, you wonder how you ever found it so hard before when holding a plane vertical is so easy.
but thats my Cougar and Pheonix, i can't hang my Capiche as it requires a slighty different approach that i've not had a chance to work out yet

Learning to fky 3D is all about prqactice. Took me a couple months to learn basic 3D like harriers/inverted harriers/hovering. Simulators help, but not that much. I really can't say anything about it because I did 3D (started off) with a 30"" 3D electric. You want to talk about hard stuff. Electrics aren't the best 3D trainers IMO. Good luck 3D'in man

Dan

PS Holding a plane in the wind is not hovering. Its just a high angle of attack. A hover must be completely vertical.

not so, anything past 60 degrees can be hanging. if theres alot of wind you have to point forwards just to stay in once place, as the wing is stalled ( happens about 30 degrees ) you are airborne on engine power alone.

Honestly, what is you current skill level in real live? How many hours of airtime do you have and on what aircraft....I tried those changes on my G2.A waste of time....and if you are on the G2 aren't you practicing on it? or do you use it as video game.

Hi Nitro Wing,

My new real model is "Modeltech Magic 3D" and I'm the best in aerobatics in my club.

I fly in a reckless way.

I have understood nobody can help us beginners in 3D without saying:

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. Suck, Such, Suck.

THEN WE WILL LEARN BY OURSELVES.

FOLLOW ME, BEGINNERS.

FIRST STEP:

REAL FLIGHT G2 > read the beginning of this Topic > Choose aircraft "Extra Special" > "Miscellaneous" menu >
"Time multiplier" > reduce the percentage to 25%.

"Airport" menu > Edit > 3D Terrain > Choose "Stormy Clouds" and "Sunset" > move the slider to the left (dark)
to see the sky well.

TODAY WE WILL LEARN TO HOLD THE PLANE ALMOST VERTICAL.
WE WILL CLIMB SLOWLY, REDUCING THE TROTTLE TO HALF UNTILL THE PLANE STOP.
THEN WE MUST MANAGE THE ELEVATOR, THE RUDDER AND THE TROTTLE TO HOLD THE PLANE ALMOST VERTICAL.

Good work

Bye bye

if only it's that easy, hanging that high up and under 5 feet up are totaly different animals.

i didn't believe the Cougar/Hypes designer when he told me it's all in practice but you will get it, i was looking for a quick cure. The thing is, to learn you must pay attention to those that have gone that way before. Having an easy plane to hang with helps, in the respect get a SPA3D, you wont care about denting it ( confidence is 50% of learning to hang ) sort the engien to work perfectly when pointed skyward ( again, see confidence ) then BURN FUEL!
