Hi Everbody,
Just installed my 280bb with a 10t pinion and it doesn't produce enough lift to get higher than 3-4 ft. I tried a 12t and that seemed to be too much for the motor. I run 7.4v lipos and was wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be.
Thanks

Is the arco280bb better than the mabuchi gold label motor for the hb?

How reliable is it?

you have to increase your headspeed, most people have this same problem.

this may sound like it wont work, but it will, trust me.

hold the end of one of your rotor blades, and twist it to the left (so that there is less of a pitch on the blade.) hold it twisted for about 20 seconds. then do this on the other blade.

make sure your blades are tracking well, then try to take off. you should lift off fine.

I don't have any trouble with my used 280BB motor, and actually I have a little more power to compare with the original motor. It is not recommend to use the 6V version for the Lipo 8.4V battery. You may think that by doing that would give you more power, but only at the very first moment when the motor is cool. When the motor gets hot, you will loose power rapidly becasue the the cooper resistance decrease. The manetic field produced by rotor is also reduced until you melt the cooper wire. More than that the Lipo battery does not recommend you to drain twice of its current. Well, it's you call.

I also used twisting trick of bluesilver30 to balance my blade.
