Well I ran my XXX-NT today for the 1st time and this truck is a blast...I grabbbed a 2nd hand motor from a Bud and dropped it in,the motor fired up quickly and was ready to play...I tossed togather a makeshift ramp and made several passes.....and put some serious air between the truck n the blacktop...well this suka flies......she took a few tumbles, barrel rolls and a end over end a few times, but she always came out running and ready for more.....While making a high-speed pass it she got a lil squirly and met the front of the ramp...and it happened...BUSTED A-ARM....oh well its to be expected in 18* (feakin cold) weather.I have a ton a spare parts in the field box from experiance years ago...I was a basher fer sure.Well none of the less it was blast and I'll be back out tommorro.

Oh well....it happens...as far as Losi goes..ya u do want 1...the cold weather makes the plastic a lil more on the brittle side and I was really slammin it around....it's kinda a bummer that I broke it only cuz it got outta control...But I'll learn..the hard way.

I wish I had done some research before I got my first nitro truck. I saw on an episode of Radio Control Hobbies about stadium trucks and wanted one. Well, a couple months later, I got nothing but money for my birthday, $300 total, and went to the nearest Hobby Town USA (which, I didn't know at the time, is quite high on their prices) and got the stadium truck that they had on display, a Traxxas Pro 15 Nitro Rustler. I didn't even look at the shelves (I mean I didn't even notice them, 'cause they were so high up), I just got the only nitro truck I saw that I could touch and take the body off and look at it real good. It kinda sucks, 'cause if I would have done some research and joined the forum before I spent all my money, I would have gotten the XXX-NT. I already knew that I was going to want to race whatever I got, but I didn't know anything other than what they showed on the show, or I wouldn't have gotten the not-so-good-for-racing Rustler and the awesome, good-for-racing-AND-bashing XXX-NT instead. Oh well, live and learn. I recently got a Fantom .12 for Christmas, which is a pretty good upgrade, but I just got grounded (I'm 16) for getting bad grades and only got to drive the new engine for two tanks of gas. The Rustler is good for bashing (and with the new Fantom .12, pretty fast: about 50mph top speed), but not too good with handling, while the XXX-NT is good for bashing and racing. Maybe I'll get the XXX-NT some day, when I get the money.

I find it very commendable that you acknowledged the fact that the trucks breakage was a result of abuse. The lot of folks around here would be cursing the truck and its manufacturer.

Sounds like you had a great time though despite trashing a part. It’s as if you almost expected it.

Wow! New concept for readers and owners. If you thrash and bash hard enough, it’s probably going to break!

Who knew?

I really like your outlook on things DodgeFan. Kudos.

And if you were my kid with that attitude, I'd tell you "fine, you're right, and tonight you'll have to sleep in it."

You'd have to do it in the yard. You'd have to drive it to the store if you wanted to get something to eat, and I hope the heat works in your truck. It's cold out ya know.

My parents would be the same way. If I did that, then they'd just take everything out of my room that I didn't pay for with my own money, like my new TV they got me for my birthday, my PS2 I got for Christmas, my DVD player, my computer, my bed, ect. Then all I'd have is my truck. Then they would find a way to keep me from driving it, like not letting me use the electricity they pay for to charge my glow starter or not give me a ride to get more AA's for the radio. That idea would just get them to let me buy whatever truck I want, as long as I worked for the money, but they would still be able to ground me from it when I make bad grades. I can see why they did it, though, 'cause I don't have anything to do except for schoolwork, so now I have straight A's.
