I wish I had done some research before I got my first nitro truck. I saw on an episode of Radio Control Hobbies about stadium trucks and wanted one. Well, a couple months later, I got nothing but money for my birthday, $300 total, and went to the nearest Hobby Town USA (which, I didn't know at the time, is quite high on their prices) and got the stadium truck that they had on display, a Traxxas Pro 15 Nitro Rustler. I didn't even look at the shelves (I mean I didn't even notice them, 'cause they were so high up), I just got the only nitro truck I saw that I could touch and take the body off and look at it real good. It kinda sucks, 'cause if I would have done some research and joined the forum before I spent all my money, I would have gotten the XXX-NT. I already knew that I was going to want to race whatever I got, but I didn't know anything other than what they showed on the show, or I wouldn't have gotten the not-so-good-for-racing Rustler and the awesome, good-for-racing-AND-bashing XXX-NT instead. Oh well, live and learn. I recently got a Fantom .12 for Christmas, which is a pretty good upgrade, but I just got grounded (I'm 16) for getting bad grades and only got to drive the new engine for two tanks of gas. The Rustler is good for bashing (and with the new Fantom .12, pretty fast: about 50mph top speed), but not too good with handling, while the XXX-NT is good for bashing and racing. Maybe I'll get the XXX-NT some day, when I get the money.
