Ann Marie,

Just wanted to thank you for all of the tips for the Super Tiger 2300 (although not directed towards me personally). I had purchased the engine several years ago (then got married thus the limit of time to use). After reading the forums I was a little hesitant as there was a lot of talk and possible issues. Well I have been flying the airplane for over a month now with no problems and gobs of power. Never a dead stick! Here is what I did if you would like to relay the info to others:

Broken in on Omega 10% regular plug factory carb and muffler 18-8 Forte Prop, O/S #8 Plug.

Flying set up:
same fuel
mounted on its side
O/S F Plug
Bisson Pitts Muffler (I did not have to plug an out let)
Forte Prop 18-8 (I have a Mejleck but have not tried it yet)
Perry 5002 Mega Carb
Pery Pump on Crank Pressure
I am getting 7800 RPM on the ground and keep it a bit on the rich side. The engine is fully cowled.

All in all maybe a little more work, but it is producing tons of power, with excellent transition, and great idle. I have purchased Supertiger for the last 8 years and am very loyal thus I try to read everything I get my hands on that talks about the Tiger engines. I wanted to relay my message to you to help others that may have problems getting this wonderful engine to run.

Just a side note . . .when properly primed I flip the prop once or twice against compression with a chicken stick, and it starts every time.

Can't wait to see the new line!

Glad to see you like your supertigre 2300,, I own a 2300 also and it runs VERY strong for it's size( i love mine!) . I have it in a 60-90 size pattern plane with a 16x12 apc .
There is alot of different opinions regarding the big supertigres ( carbs,fuel, etc). I have had my carb modified by our club president who has been flying for 30 years and is a GENIUS!
My buddy and I (raskco) have the big Supertigres and we love them. They are powerfull, the 3000 series are a bit on the heavy side but oh well, and if you run them properly ( not over lean) then will outlive you!! Very durable engines.
You just have to learn what fuel, needle settings, plugs, prop combination they like. Once you figure it out you're laughing..
