Status: offline 		Do a search on RCCA (Radio Control Combat Association) and you will get a great deal of information. Also look at SPAD's and you will see a number of planes you can build very cheaply. I've started out with the SPAD GNAT and am expecting a foam P-51 from JK Aerotech to show up tomorrow. Anyway... there is a wide selection of planes in various classes, I would suggest you look at that RCCA site and then at the SSC (Slow Survivable Class) to get yourself started... Enjoy! DickB

Status: offline 		A good first combat plane is... any plane of the appropriate weight and engine size to fit in the rules for the local combat event.

Something you have just about flown the wings off... and wouldn't really be upset if it got broke. (because it will.)

Got a Sig Kobra with a .25 FP on the nose? It will work. (it won't survive a mid-air but it will work)

Got an old .40 size trainer (and some buds with thier old trainers?) You could have trainer combat.

Or you could be like me... in an open to all weights and designs, just .50 ci max total engine displacement... I took a .46 powered Tamecat (.40-60 trainer with a huge heavy fuselage) against a bunch of .46 powered Gremlins and similar models (and I did pretty darn good cause they couldn't slow down like I could. Snipped thier streamers as they buzzed by.)

Get your hard hats, spotters and streamers... go have a party.

that is the best advice. Find somebody flying local and fly what they fly. If your near Houston, we fly combat just about every sunday near Ellington Field...

Status: offline 		I built the HOR on Spad website and enjoyed SSC flying with a Magnum .15. Plane is cheap, durable and fun. For Class B combat I built the spad Dogfighter and run it with a .25Fxs. Fast, fun and easy build. Can't miss with either one.

Status: offline 		Once, this was really cool, i saw a slow stick fight. There were 5 people having a battle with slowsticks. It was insanely fun but slow. Im going to do that sometime. Otherwise, do you know any websites where you can find good cheap combat planes?
