I have heard conflicting things about fuel %s. 30% burns cleaner, 20% doesn't heat up the engine as much, etc... Does anyone have an answer? I have a HPI SNR4 Rally. what fuel should I use. it is all 14%oil content.
thanx

For a .12-.15 size engine I would recommend 20%.

For a supernitro with a stock engine, use 20%.

higher nitro % will increase speed, decrease temps, and also drastically decrease engine life, however, it is only best suited for top racing engines. Highliine engines such as the RB Concepts V12, Novarossi S3, and Mugen MR12 can be used with 30% by removing the head and shimming it .1mm or so. this will increase performance slightly. Most big block engines can be run with 30% and also see slight power gains, but again, head shimming is recommended.

Bottom line, 30% 35% and 40% are benificial for high stress racing environments and will give the engine slightly more power. For standard RTR engines, the benifits of 30% wont really be seen, but will still drastically shorten engine life.
