motoadve -> Helicopter fuel for 4 stroke plane engine? (5/29/2002 7:58:52 AM)

Saito website recommends using helicopter fuel in their engines, the increase throttle response and RPM, has anyone tried this?
Why not selling it as plane fuel instead if it works better?

What are your opiniuons?
should I try it?

Homebrewer -> Heli fuel (5/29/2002 8:37:31 AM)

All heli fuel is 100% synthetic oil based fuel. For example, Coolpower 15% airplane and Coolpower 15% heli fuel are identical, except for the label on the gallon container.

Synt oil based fuel is preferred in 4 strokes because some people feel/claim that castor oil in fuel can cause carbon problems in 4 stroke engines. However, I have run into many people who burn Wildcat fuel containing 20% castor and have yet to complain about castor problems. Their fuel does appear to clean burner than other castor based fuels.

I have used quite a few Saito engines and find they do like to run on heli fuel, especially the wildcat one, however 25% nitro Sig 2-stroke fuel runs just as well and is $5 less per gallon.
